Andover Scottish Dancing Club

NEW VENUE - Amesbury, Wiltshire

The Club continues to flourish - with attendances providing sufficient numbers for two sets. We also continue to enjoy the services of a number of highly competent teachers, which adds diversity to our repertoire, and makes the dancing even more vibrant and enjoyable.

So, come and join us - it really is a most pleasant and painless way of burning off the calories and stimulating the mind, as well as making new friends!!

Who are we?

[Two Couples Dancing] More than thirty years ago, there was a Scottish Country Dancing evening class, run by the local authority, based in the John Hanson School. However, it was stipulated that the class would only operate if there was an average attendance of at least fourteen; and, there were occasions when the class was suspended because of this requirement. Several of those attending then were Methodists so, in 1983, we set up a Club at the Methodist Church in Bridge Street, Andover. The Club has always been inter-denominational, and also continues to include those with no church associations; at present, there are some 17 members on the books. We are a friendly Club, with a wide range of dancing ability that welcomes new members.
